![]() I think having to waste a few slots on skills you'll never use just for one encounter that you may or may not have in the run is bad design, which is a bummer because the rest of the game is absolutely delightful. Even if you have the correct mob for the bar switch, you still have to actually survive until it get there. At later books and nights levels, he can even spawn with other elite mobs (such as Martyrs) which make the encounter litterally impossible. There is apparently a creature he can spawn with which sometimes switch the bars around but I never had it in an encounter I think, since his entourage is randomized. Even if you use the Devil power to down his other bar to 0 (which is very costly, around 13 points per bar, and you have 3 to down), you still have to actually land a hit of this damage type to deplete the bar. The problem is, if you have built an only HP or only SP damage comp, you cannot kill this creature. But, while he is alive, the other creatures on he battlefield are immune to damage. Why : This encounter's mechanic asks you to down both HP and SP bars of a creature (said Fanatic) 3 times before he can actually be killed. But if you go all in on either HP or SP damage, encountering the Fanatic can be an instant run ender. I find the design of this encounter truly horrible to be honest : as with most of the games where there is dual "life" bars, there is almost 0 encentive to build a hybrid composition.Īnd Rogue Lords is no different as outside of the Fanatic encounter, nothing demands you to do so, quite the contrary. ![]() ![]() So far, this is the only creature that has given me trouble but not in the fun, engaging way. There isn't much I don't like about the game except one thing : the Fanatic elite encounter. Hi, I just bought the game yesterday and I'm quite frankly having a blast.
